
Christine Chandler

Christine has been with M&T since 1991, bringing over 30 years of commercial real estate experience. Since 2018, she has overseen credit decisions for M&T Realty Capital Corporation (M&T RCC) multifamily and healthcare transactions underwritten in the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac (Agency), and FHA platforms, while also managing company operations. Her recent achievements include integrating RCC’s technology team into M&T Bank’s enterprise technology group, securing the Freddie Mac Targeted Affordable Housing license, and transforming the signing authority of Agency credit approvals.
From 2005 to 2018, Chrstine served as the Chief FHA Underwriter for RCC and is an approved Multifamily (MAP) and 232 Healthcare Underwriter. Before this, she was a senior Fannie Mae DUS Underwriter and managed FHA/GNMA transactions. She also worked as a relationship manager in M&T Bank's commercial real estate division, focusing on construction and portfolio lending.
Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Towson University in Maryland. She is active in the mortgage banking industry as the 2026 MBA Chairman and is a voting member of the MBA board of directors. She served as past chair of COMBOG (MBA Commercial Multifamily Board of Governors, has also held various roles in MBA committees and was an instructor for the MBA-sponsored FHA Underwriting Training program.
Christine has received several recognitions, including The Daily Record’s “Top 100 Women” in 2020, and GlobeSt.’s “Women of Influence” (Finance Executive Honoree) in 2022. She serves on the board of several not-for-profit entities and is a director for the University System of Maryland Foundation.
