Chief General Counsel

Anita Hyland serves as General Counsel at M&T Realty Capital Corporation, bringing over 20 years of legal expertise in commercial real estate finance and multifamily lending. Prior to joining M&T RCC, Anita was Associate General Counsel at Freddie Mac, where she represented the Northeast Region in complex mortgage loan origination and purchase, and played a key role in structuring transactions and training new hires. She previously practiced as a Partner at Cassin & Cassin LLP, advising institutional lenders and Freddie Mac Seller/Servicers, and held positions at Stark, Amron & Liner LLP and Goldberg Weprin & Ustin LLP.

Anita holds a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, summa cum laude, from Hunter College. She is admitted to the New York Bar and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
